Você pluga a interface e trabalha.

Manutenção é parte do trabalho.

Ninguém identifica a plataforma ouvindo o resultado.

This question usually turns into an argument because it is asked the wrong way. "Which is better" has no answer, since both platforms run the same DAWs, the same plugins and produce indistinguishable music.

The question that does have an answer is a different one: which of the two problems gets in your way today? Because each platform solves one of them very well and charges dearly for the other.

What the Mac solves

Audio works without configuration. Core Audio is the system's own audio layer, and it is already low latency. There is no such thing as "installing the right driver", because there is no choice to make. You plug the interface in and work.

The machine does not change under you. Fewer hardware combinations means less surface for things to go wrong. Waking up to a driver swapped by an update, which is routine on the other side, is simply not a frequent subject here.

Efficiency and silence. Current machines deliver a lot of work on little power, which means a quiet fan. In a room that doubles as a recording booth, that stops being comfort and becomes a technical requirement.

Resale. Three years later the machine is still worth money, which changes the real cost of the whole calculation.

What the Mac charges

Memory and storage are expensive and never change. This is the deciding point, and it speaks directly to the rest of the work. Memory is integrated into the processor, so what you bought is what you will have forever. If in two years your template asks for more, the answer is a new machine.

Anyone working with large libraries feels this first, because memory is exactly the resource those libraries consume, and the price jump between configurations is far steeper than the equivalent cost of loose memory.

Internal expansion does not exist. More storage means an external drive. It works well, but it is one more device and one more cable.

What the PC solves

Cost per gigabyte and per core. For the same money you get considerably more memory and more storage. For anyone building large templates, this is the most concrete difference of all.

You replace a part instead of a machine. Insufficient memory becomes a memory purchase, not a computer purchase. A full drive becomes one more drive. The machine grows alongside the work, in pieces.

Graphics card choice. Irrelevant for pure audio, decisive if your work includes video for the channel, 3D rendering or AI models running locally. Here the PC has no competition.

What the PC charges

Maintenance is part of the job. Audio drivers, updates that replace audio drivers, power plans, which USB port sits on which controller, system interrupts causing crackles. None of it is hard, and all of it is time. If you enjoy tinkering, it is nearly a hobby. If you just want to open and produce, it is a tax.

The build is your responsibility. A badly chosen part, a weak power supply or a motherboard with poorly distributed controllers becomes an audio problem months later, and nobody will tell you that is the cause.

About plugins, the subject that used to be serious

Today it barely weighs. The relevant vendors ship for both platforms, and native versions for Apple's processors are now the rule rather than the exception.

Two caveats still hold. An old plugin abandoned by its vendor may run only through a compatibility layer, or not at all. And free instruments from small developers tend to arrive first, or only, for Windows. If your sound depends on some rarity, check before deciding, not after.

How to actually decide

Answer three questions about your work, not about the platform:

How much memory does your template ask for, and how much will it ask in three years? If the answer is a lot and growing, the PC wins by allowing growth. If your method is lean sessions, the Mac's fixed ceiling will never bother you.

Do you record in the same room as the machine? If so, noise is a requirement, and the Mac takes the lead effortlessly.

How many hours a month will you accept spending on maintenance? If the answer is zero, the Mac has already paid for itself. If you do not mind, that PC cost vanishes from the calculation.

And there is a fourth, practical question: do you already own one of them? Switching platforms costs more than the computer. It costs relicensing whatever is exclusive, rebuilding shortcuts, relearning the workflow and converting old projects. If your current machine copes, the best purchase is usually memory, storage or a better interface.

The summary, with nobody to root for

Nobody identifies the platform by listening to the result. Both record, mix and master at the same level.

What changes is where you will spend: money at purchase, with the Mac, or time on maintenance, with the PC. Choosing means deciding which of the two you have to spare.
